“How to Make a Press Kit” Workshop this Thursday!
Have you ever felt like a deer in the headlights when someone you met at a cocktail party said: “I’d love to feature you in my magazine, paper, zine, blog, etc — can you send me a bio and some photos of your products/artwork … by tomorrow?”
Yes? Then you know you need this!
No? Well, you’ll be thinking about this post when it does happen!
Don’t miss those opportunities! And don’t be scrambling around at the last minute. Instead, be ready with all the elements you need to communicate the ideas you want to share, whenever you need them to reach out to your ideal clients, and when serendipity puts you in the right place at the right time for unexpected attention.
In this 45 minute workshop, you’ll learn the basics of a press kit for entrepreneurs and artists, and go home knowing how to create one for yourself.

Made Local Magazine: The March Issue is on the Stands!
My first issue as the editor of Made Local Magazine is out on the stands! It’s also online for those not in the Sonoma County area. Highlights include The Botanical Bus, Jupiter Foods, author Frances Rivetti, and Spring Nettle Recipes. I hope you enjoy it.
“Werewolf Serenade” Film Update
At the same time as working on the magazine, we finished our feature film Werewolf Serenade! We also made our “finishing funds” fundraising goal — we really appreciate everyone who donated! Next is our cast, crew and patrons screening in April. Then, we’ll apply to film festivals, and plan to do a limited screening in the Bay Area (and maybe New York!) before working on further distribution. I’ll keep you posted on where you can see it :)

So glad I took your class on How to Make a Press Kit, Kary! Thanks again.
